The famous Cello Suite BWV 1007 for solo cello was probably composed by Bach in 1720 during a stay in Köthen. It is today considered an essential work for this instrument both for its musical and pedagogical qualities. This suite opens on the famous prelude and continues with five dances: allemande, courante, sarabande, menuet and gigue. This publication is based on available manuscript sources and the Breitkopf & Härtel 1879 edition.
