Solo Music
When you write long solo music for one instrument, like Trumpet, do you alternate between melody and rhythm?
To give the piece a sense of being a whole? It works kind of like impressionism - people's minds put the rhythm and melody together, even though they don't happen at the same time. In fact, I'm finding that using impressionism is useful in composing solo music for trumpet. You can work with the listener and make their mind work to put the piece together somewhat. I'm working on painting the broad strokes that facilitate this synthesis by the listener. What do you think?
I think nobody cares about trumpet, it is one of the worst instruments it just sucks, sorry.
