Percussion Book
Question about Reason (Drum Machines/Kits)?
First of all I'll say I know nothing about Reason, and I have no training in music whatsoever. That being said please provide an informative answer if possible (not: "go read a book").
Whenever I use my MIDI keyboard (LPK25) with Reason, I can't seem to make sound with drum machine/kits using the MIDI. I can make sounds with individual instruments/effects, even percussion instruments, but I can't get any sounds out of kits/machines.
Do I need to select a specific instrument to be used with a kit/machine? Each time I press a key on the MIDI, a corresponding "mute" key lights up for 1-10 of the samples (they're not muted). Obviously I don't know what I'm talking about and I'm sure this is confusing, but please shed some light if you can.
I'm willing to provide further details/information if it will help. Thanks.
