Class Book
If you don't have a book for a college class by the first day is it a big deal?
I ordered a book for one of my first college classes, but I may not get it in time for my first class. Is that a big deal? Are you expected to have all of your books the first class? Would it be difficult to follow along if you don't?

This is only a community college if it matters.
I wouldn't worry so much about it. As long as you have the book by the beginning of the second week of class, you should be fine. You just don't want to get too far behind on your reading.
Trust me, you won't be the only one in the class without a book. Lots of students don't buy the books for the first few weeks at all until they're sure they won't drop the class, and some never buy them and still do fine.
