Why people call it the 'Tom Brady rule'? When it wasn't exactly the case?

I don't think the rule could have been apllied to Bernard Pollard anyway, because he was trying to get up when Sammy Morris brought him down and pushed him against Brady.

Because most people are simple minded. They need to boil more complex things down to simple concepts they can get their mind around rather than understanding complexities.

First, it's not a rule change, it's a more strict interpretation of an existing rule.

Second, the NFL wouldn't have issued this stricter interpretation if it was just Brady who was injured in this way. It has already been documented that several QB's suffered season ending injuries in similar circumstances.

Third, Tom Brady is a polarizing figure so it either "proves" that he is a wimp or that the hit was dirty depending on your feelings about him.

For all of the people who think this is a "sissy" rule change just pad up, plant your feet with spikes on into the ground and close your eyes while a 280 lb man makes a lunge low on your front leg. After you're done crying for your momma we'll remind you how big of a sissy you are, too.
