How do you Play Along to a drum beat?
I always play too fast or slow, I can never play in time to a drum beat. I can barely play to a metronome. Please help!

I can kinda play along to a song, and some drum beats, like freak on a leash (KoRn)
But yea, not very well.
Also I found out that I walk to the beat and realize that I'm tapping my foot in time with out realizing. I just can't play to drum beats.
Just practice. You said you have a metronome, here is how to start.
First: Quarter notes. This is what you tap your foot to in a song.
Set the metronome to 60BPM and just hit once every time it clicks. First right hand, then left hand. Do this for about 10 minutes a day until you can nail it every time. It sucks and is a pain to do, but you have to start somewhere.
Once you have that down, do eighth notes. Set the metronome to 60BPM again and hit your pad twice between each click at an even interval. OR you could cheat and set it to 120BPM and just do it once per click.
Once you have that down, you can do sixteenth notes (4 times in between clicks), triplets (3 times between notes), etc.
I recommend a metronome that has settings for quarter, eighth, sixteenth, and triplets such as the Tama Rhythm Watch or the Yamaha Clickstation. You could even go to a guitar center or Sam Ash to check them out to get a basic idea of what quarter, eighth, sixteenths, and triplets are.
Also, try getting basic lessons from one of your friends that plays music. Preferably drums.
